Our sweet old Puff is getting older and her days of having litters of triplets and quads seem to be past. Last year and now this year (2022) she has had only a single kid each time. This year Puff went into labor but was not progressing. Upon examination I eventually found a single kid buried so deep as to be almost impossible to reach. This kid was upside down with its head bent back and tucked even further down out of reach. After an agonizingly long time I was finally able to get things sorted so I could help Puff deliver the kid. This exquisite doeling is the kid I helped into the world. Her name, Dafina, means hidden or buried treasure.
Dafina's dam is, of course, our wonderful old Puff who has birthed Top Ten, elite and superior genetics animals. Dafina's sire is Oliver Wood, full brother to our multiple time Top Ten breed leader and elite doe SG Camelot Cattle Co Mischief 2*M Ex90 who was leading her breed as #1 milker nation wide in 2020 (#2 butterfat, #5 protein). We are extremely pleased to have this classy little lady in our herd.
